Best Beauty Advent Calendars 2026: What to Buy Before Black Friday, and What to Wait For

Buy now or wait for Black Friday?

Discounts come to calendars that are still on the shelf in late November, and the hyped ones are not. Advent.center, which tracks advent calendar prices, counted price cuts on only 13 of the 203 calendars it follows when we checked in early November. Sephora Favorites has sold out for four years running; in the UK, Harrods, Selfridges and ELLE were gone weeks before Black Friday.

The rule of thumb: buy limited, hyped and luxury calendars now; wait only for drugstore and mass-market ones. And check delivery: an order placed on Cyber Monday can easily arrive after December 1.

Six beauty advent calendar trends of 2026

• Fragrance. The hottest category of the year: fragrance calendars at Harrods, Lookfantastic and John Lewis sold out first, and new ones arrived — Glasshouse 12 Days of Fragrance ($150), Diptyque, Jo Malone, Maison Margiela's 7-day Replica set.
• K-beauty. PDRN, glass skin and the first all-Korean calendars in mass retail: ANUA's 7-day Glass Skin set is $34 at Ulta, Laneige's 12 Days is $149.
• 12 days instead of 24. Shorter is cheaper and better edited. Tatcha, Laneige, L'Oréal Paris and Kitsch all went 12-day; Elizabeth Arden launched its first calendar at $90.
• Full size over door count. Reviewers count full-size products now, not doors: e.l.f. puts 18 full sizes behind 24 doors, L'Oréal's 12-day is all full size.
• Golden tickets. A UK habit spreading fast: a cash prize or a gadget hidden in a few boxes of a print run — Liberty, Elemis, John Lewis (an LED mask), Cult Beauty.
• TikTok unboxings. Charlotte Tilbury and essence's bakery box Baked With Love go viral every year, which is exactly why they go fast.

Under $50: stocking-stuffer calendars

ChapStick Cozy Countdown, 12 days — about $16. Twelve lip balms in a knitted-sweater box. The cheapest calendar that still looks like a present.

Profusion 12 Day — $19.97 at Walmart. A twelve-door makeup starter for a teen. Despite the "Elf" in the listing name, it is a Profusion set, not e.l.f. Cosmetics.

Burt's Bees 12 Days of Joy — about $30. Twelve lip balms, one an exclusive flavor; an Amazon exclusive.

essence Baked With Love — $49.99 at Walmart, about the same on Amazon. Twenty-four doors in a bakery box, and a TikTok favorite every season. The lowest price per door in this guide.

$50–100: the sweet spot

Revolution 24-Day — $65 at Walmart, about the same on Amazon. Ten full sizes, eight minis and six accessories, including a full-size eyeshadow palette and brushes. The best full-face kit under $100.

e.l.f. Express Your e.l.f. — about $95. Twenty-four doors, eighteen of them full size. On full-size count, the strongest calendar in this guide.

ColourPop Colour Me Merry — about $100. Twenty-five days of ColourPop color for someone who already loves the brand.

$100–200: twelve days, full size

Kitsch Holiday 12-Day — about $120. Twelve full-size hair and self-care pieces, pillowcase included. A self-gift as much as a present.

L'Oréal Paris 12 Day Ultimate — about $125. Twelve doors, all full size. On Amazon in 2026 it sits closer to $125 than the $100 several guides list.

$200 and up: worth it only if you know the brand

Charlotte Tilbury's Hollywood Beauty Wonderland ($220, 15 doors with Magic Cream and a Beauty Light Wand), Dermstore's Best of Dermstore ($250, iS Clinical, Medik8, Augustinus Bader), Elemis ($325, with golden tickets) and Liberty ($395 with US shipping). All four are sold by the brand or the retailer directly, and of the four only Charlotte Tilbury has a record of Black Friday cuts.

How to tell if a beauty advent calendar is worth it

• Divide the price by full-size products, not by doors. Twenty-four doors of 5 ml samples are a sample kit.
• Ignore the claimed value. Brands price every millilitre at full retail, so the figure is always generous.
• Read the contents list. If the brand doesn't publish one, the doors are mostly sachets.
• Shades are a lottery. Foundation and lipstick may not suit. For someone whose taste you don't know, choose skincare, brushes or fragrance.
• Sensitive skin. Twenty-four new products in a month is a lot of new ingredients. Pick a brand they already use.
